Loving Sharing Serving Making

As we begin this year, I’m preaching about what I said last week, my church vision, that (slide 2) “Mauldin First Baptist is a loving, multigenerational family, where the love of God leads us to share Jesus, serve others and make new disciples.”
My vision, hope it becomes yours, begins and empowered by our love for God, leading to loving others, think it would be pretty hard to read about Jesus in the scriptures and argue against this, that the most important thing, love God with all heart, soul, mind and strength, love neighbors as yourself…

I’m not making any new year’s resolutions. But I do have one thing in mind that I’m trying to do this year that is very clear… and it is found in this verse we’re about to read. This is a verse that God has laid on my heart, for me personally, but also for our church, not saying church theme for year, but wouldn’t be a bad one, but really, the idea here is to come back to what’s important, where our focus needs to be, really for us as followers of Jesus, that this is critical for all of us.
