Moving Forward

Durham Greene Renderings

The church rejuvenation team is proposing to move forward on the sanctuary upgrade. The project would include new LED lighting, paint, stadium seating, and new wood and carpet flooring. The sound booth would be relocated, from the balcony to the lower level. The cost of Phase 3 is $810,000. To begin Phase 3 (and to avoid debt), 75 percent of the cost, or $607,500, will need to be fully funded.

Mauldin First Baptist Family, we are at the precipice of a momentous time in the life of our Church. It is an incredibly exciting and important time.

It is time to rejuvenate our Church. The most serve. make. important rejuvenation we are embarking on should be personal, within our own hearts. However, we realize our worship center is dated and in need of being a place that unchurched people in our exploding community will find welcoming, modern, and worshipful. God has led us to embark on a bold initiative to do just that. Our Church Rejuvenation Project started and will continue with prayer. Pray about how God can use you to revitalize our church. It starts with you! Secondly, pray about how God wants you to be a part of it financially. You have a unique opportunity to leave a grand legacy for the church you love, the one where your children have been baptized, married and where some of your loved ones have been honored in their passing. Your gift could result in someone who needs an experience with Christ finding Him in a meaningful way that will transform their lives. What better gift can you give? It will take resources to accomplish this. It will take commitment and, yes, sacrifice. There is nothing more important than honoring God by honoring his Church by making it a place where lives are changed for His glory. It is vitally important that each member participate as he or she is able. Our goal is 100 percent participation. Together we can leave a legacy gift that will impact our church and community, yes, and even our State and the world for generations to come. Join us today!

The Final Rejuvenation Phase

Phase4 involves revising the vestibule restrooms to be ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. Also, the hallways leading from the worship center to the educational part of the building would be painted. The cost of Phase 4 is $175,000. Once Phase 3 is completely funded we would evaluate moving forward with Phase 4. The cost of completing the entire project is $985,000.

In the last 119 years, God has allowed Mauldin First Baptist (MFB) to build its campus with faithful and sacrificial givers. At one time, the church was in debt for nearly $4,000,000. Again God blessed us with an abundance of resources and committed stewards in order to “dump the debt.” MFB survived a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic because God impressed upon our members to be faithful to giving their tithes and offerings. God is always at work in and around our church. And so MFB is more than beautiful windows and brick walls. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 3:9: ‘For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.’ In Romans 2:5 it is written, ‘We who are many in one body in Christ and individual members of one another.’ Apart from God we can do nothing of Kingdom value. The guiding principles for the church rejuvenation team have been prayerful progress, transparency, and open communication. After several months of prayer and listening to feedback on the proposed plan, the team is ready to move forward into the pledge phase of the Church Rejuvenation campaign.

Mauldin First Baptist is a loving, multigenerational family where the love of God leads us to share Jesus, serve others, and make new disciples.

As we pray about how God will lead each of us to be a part of this process, John 15:5 says,’ “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
