Wade is originally from Atlanta and spent his first 10 years of full-time ministry doing campus ministry. He is a graduate of Mercer University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He enjoys basketball, fishing and spending time with his wife, Elizabeth and all their animals on their farm including dogs, cats, and horses.
Senior Adult Pastor
Bill Was born in Washington, PA., graduated from Manitou Springs High School, CO, and received his BA degree from The University of Richmond, VA as well as his M.Div. from Strom Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Bill has served as lead pastor in churches in NC and VA, and as Associational Missionary for The Transylvania Baptist Association (NC). He has served as pilot pastor for the SBC discipling program, MasterLife, and currently gives direction to the various discipling ministries and training at MFB. Bill also gives leadership to our Wednesday night adult programming as well as our adult Sunday school.
His goal is to live a contagious Christian Faith which will draw people into deeper relationships with Jesus. His life verse is “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
Howie was born in Zion, Ill., raised in Arizona, and graduated from high school in western PA. He is graduate of Arizona College of the Bible, the University of Houston and is presently pursuing his doctorate in worship from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Howie married his best friend, Dawnie, shortly after completing Bible college. Howie and Dawnie have 3 adult kids and a new son-in-law. He brings experience as a worship pastor from both Southern Baptist and Bible church backgrounds in the South and Midwest. He is a people-oriented leader with an eye for detail. Howie has a passion for putting God at the forefront in our worship experiences and shepherding choir and worship teams toward that goal. His bucket list includes writing a book on worship while pursuing his hobbies of golf and travel.
Born and raised in Greenville, I graduated from North Greenville University with a BA in Youth Ministry. Later I received my M. Div. from Tyndale Theological Seminary in Badhoevedorp, The Netherlands. Along with these degrees, I also studied Elementary Education and Film and Video Production at Bob Jones University.
Since an early teen, I have had a passion and heart for kids and families. As paid or volunteer staff, I have assisted with children’s churches, led middle and high school, small groups, done media for camps in the United States and Portugal, assisted various ministries and churches in South Africa for six months, and recently spent nine years doing student/business as missions in The Netherlands. During that time my ministry was to the international/ex-pat youth and families in Amsterdam and Den Haag with XRDS International Church.

Preschool and Children’s Pastor
Paula and the rest of the Southwell clan, Joe, Lucy, Ben, and Gracie, moved to Greenville from Alabama in 2001. They began worshipping at Mauldin First in June and joined the family in January of 2002. After a couple of years serving as a member, Paula came on staff as Preschool Coordinator in 2004 and since then has also served as MCA director and Children’s Pastor. She is passionate about discipling young children and equipping young parents to disciple in the home.
In her spare time, Paula enjoys family outings with her adult children, home groups with young families, costuming for a local theater, playing with her dog Rudy, and Netflix.

Born in Bristol, Connecticut, Jill moved to Mauldin in 1996. She is married to David and they have four sons. She began worshiping with Mauldin First Baptist in 2008.
She previously worked in the medical field for 15 years but felt the desire to serve in the church and work with children. She is our Preschool Coordinator and has been serving in that role for five years and has also served as Interim Children’s Leader.
She is currently filling the role as Interim Youth Leader. In her spare time, you’ll find her playing with her boys or baking in the kitchen.
Worship Pastor’s Ministry Assistant
Scott is responsible for the digital filing and backups of all choral and orchestral music under the worship arts ministries. Scott is also responsible for creating slides for the overhead projection of hymns and worship songs for the Sunday morning worship services.
Scott has been a part-time staff member since September 2016. Scott, serving in the church orchestra and wife Becky, serving as a Sunday school teacher, have been members of Mauldin First Baptist for about 22 years.
Nadine is a South Carolina native and grew up in Mauldin. Her education is in music and business administration with degrees from North Greenville University and Southern Wesleyan University.
She had a successful career as a public servant in government procurement and now serves as our Pastor’s Ministry Assistant. She has been the pianist of churches throughout Greenville, Spartanburg and Pickens counties since she was 10 years old and currently serves at Siloam Baptist Church, Easley.
Music being her passion, she is a long time private piano and voice teacher and continues to teach piano in her spare time. Serving Jesus is her first and foremost desire wherever He leads her.
Ruth grew up in Clemson SC….Go Tigers! She is married to Jim and is the nana to four grandkids. She has been a part of our staff since 1996.
As Facilities Director, Ruth is responsible for all upkeep and issues related to the church building, grounds, and vehicles. She also supervises the cleaning and maintenance crews. Any event requests you may have, you can give her a call and she will let you know what our policies and availability are on the church calendar.
When not at work, Ruth enjoys baking, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, hiking, and playing with those grandchildren!
Financial Ministry Assistant
Andrea Hyman grew up a Pastor’s kid and has been in the upstate of South Carolina her whole life. She married her husband, Ray, in 2005 and they have two handsome boys, Mason & Colt (#boymom).
Andrea has been in church finance since 2011. In July of 2018, she joined FBC Mauldin to manage all A/R and A/P, Stewardship, Reporting, and Budgeting.
When she isn’t dazed by numbers, Andrea enjoys singing, crafting, hiking with her family, and watching her boys follow their dreams in various sports and intellectual adventures. She knows she couldn’t do anything without Jesus and coffee.
